We invite you to join us!

We gather for the Divine Service weekly at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings, wherein we are blessed with the Lord's gifts of Word and Sacrament.  We follow the 3-year Lectionary (collections of readings from God's holy scripture) and confirmed members receive the Lord's Supper (Christ's true body and blood in, with, and under the bread and wine) weekly.  Click here for our Communion statement.

At Gloria Dei, we worship in accord with the historic liturgy of the church, as organized in the Lutheran Service Book, accompanied by historic hymns and led by our pipe organ.  We often enjoy musical accompaniment with saxophone, recorder, and other instrumentation.

"Children are a blessing from the Lord."  We welcome children in our church and encourage their participation in the liturgy.

Immediately after Service, we gather in the narthex for fellowship, coffee, and treats.  Here we get to know our Christian brothers and sisters better while rejoicing in blessings and sharing in sufferings.

Then join us for Sunday School!

Children’s Sunday School restarted on September 11th, 2022.  Our class meets for about 30 minutes after the Divine Service:

 • Grades 5 through 12 meet in the Blue Room with Jason Skudlarek to study Martin Luther’s Small Catechism in conjunction with biblical texts.  This class serves as preparation for (or review of) confirmation.

Note - younger children are always welcome, especially if they can read or are accompanied by an adult.

•  Elder Sherwood Hoyt leads our Adult Bible class in the Narthex to study the Lectionary readings from the Divine Service within the framework of the Scriptural narrative.

All of our youth teachers have secured teaching clearances and background checks in accord with PA state law; documentation is available in the church office.
